Vanessa Spyropoulos began her nursing career as a staff nurse on the Transplant/Hepatobiliary Surgery Unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital. She completed her graduate degree in nursing at McGill University in 2010. Since then, she has worked at the Montreal Neurological Hospital, as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Brain Tumor and Multiple Sclerosis Programs, and as a Nurse Educator in Neurology, covering the two stroke units of the MUHC. She returned to the Multiple Sclerosis Program as a Nurse Clinician in August 2013.
Vanessa is interested in family centered nursing care, the coping process of patients and families, and chronic illness. Her goals are: 1) to further develop her knowledge in MS, 2) to continue teaching (currently providing a preceptorship to a nurse completing her graduate degree in nursing at McGill), and 3) to continue providing holistic and family-centered care to her patients using best practice guidelines.
